My French son Louis and I live in another old farmhouse, right next door to Le Jas du Pontias, with my Scottish husband Nicholas. I am Dutch and arrived in Provence, by way of New York, in 1993. I live in Nyons since 2012. Nicholas arrived here in 2003. He is a retired British-university teacher and currently tpaints and writes. Louis boards not that far at high-school. I write, teach literacy classes and take care of the Jas and its guests. We live here all year round and are here to stay.
Whenever we can, we like to take Louis along to discover new mountain trails and wander around the castles, priories and medieval villages sprawled across nature everywhere. It is good living in Nyons because of the microclimat, the picturesque and lively town and the lush mountains.
The rental is self-catering, but I can prepare a simple vegetarian meal from local ingredients for you, on order, if you wish - depending on my availability at the time of your stay.
We renovated the Jas at Number 15 for several reasons. Most of our family and old friends live abroad and the Jas is a great way to host them in Nyons. We also recuperated two extra rooms for Nick's house next door. The restauration of the house is done with quality materials and a lot of attention to detail. You can appreciate the results during your holiday in the Drôme Provençale !
